#AllInForCommunity

/Homeless Packs

As they say, the only thing that is constant is change.  We see this with the uncertainty in the future of the Pac12’s future as well as a change in Windermere’s relationship with the Seahawks.  Sadly after 6 seasons, raising $35,800 last season, the #tackleHomelessness has not been extended.  The good news is that Windermere Foundation continues our support for low-income and homeless families throughout the Western U.S. Since the Foundation began in 1989, we have raised over $45 million for those in need in the communities where we work, live, and serve.

Beyond my personal investment donating to our foundation, I have had a long-term commitment to finding ways to help homelessness that goes back more than 20 years. Like many I have volunteered time at shelters and outreach to those affected and will be helping build tiny homes thanks to an amazing Seattle Non-profit later this month.  www.soundfoundationsnw.org

Currently I am starting the process for my 3rd annual homeless pack preparation. This is a remarkably simple idea that I produced based on the “10 essentials of hiking”, a list of 10 things a hiker should always carry with them in case of an emergency where they will be trapped out in the wilderness. I have modified the list to create Homeless Packets that I prepare each fall to hand out to those in need. I carry them in my car and E-bike to give them to those in need that I come across as a small solution to an enormous challenge.  Proud to say that last year I created and donated 50 packets directly to those in need.

This year I will be extending the offer to create packets for those interested and hand deliver them to you so that you too can help. If you would like to order your own pack, click the link below to connect with me directly.
